Students and police unite for spring road safety near Ustanskaya School

A road safety campaign was held near Ustanskaya School this week as part of the 'Spring Is Coming—Make Way for Spring!' initiative. Traffic police officers and local students joined forces to promote awareness among drivers and pedestrians alike. The event focused on protecting young walkers as the weather warms up. Young participants from the school's Youth Traffic Inspectors squad, including groups named 'Maximum' and 'Little Traffic Light', took an active role. They handed out informational leaflets and displayed posters reminding road users to stay alert near crosswalks. Organisers stressed the importance of drivers slowing down when approaching school zones.

Traffic police officers reinforced the message by urging everyone to follow road rules. They specifically called on motorists to watch for children crossing and for pedestrians to remain cautious. The campaign also highlighted the need for extra vigilance during spring and summer, when more young people are outdoors. Similar safety drives will continue across the region in the coming months.

The initiative aimed to reduce risks for underage pedestrians by reminding drivers of crossing rules. With ongoing campaigns planned, authorities hope to maintain safer roads around schools. The collaboration between police and students will remain a key part of these efforts.
