Student Defends Nature Conservation on 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire'
Torben Löw, a 22-year-old student of 'Landscape Planning and Nature Conservation', recently made an appearance on the popular quiz show 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?'. In the hot seat, Löw defended his work in environmental conservation and discussed its impact on the construction industry.
Löw, who is also active in environmental conservation through his consulting firm 'Löw Natur- und Artenschutz', explained that his work involves assessing the impact of new residential areas on local species and ensuring their protection. He chose the game variant with four lifelines and won €1,000 before time ran out.
Host Günther Jauch, known for his skepticism about environmental conservation in the construction industry, criticized the process. He argued that it can delay the construction of much-needed apartments. However, Löw and Jauch agreed that determining the worthiness of protecting certain species can be a complex question. Jauch mentioned that the federal government is looking into ways to expedite the process of relocating protected species.
Löw, who brought his mother to the studio for support, defended his work and the importance of balancing the needs of both construction and environmental conservation. His appearance on the show sparked a discussion about the role of environmental conservation in the construction industry and the challenges it faces.
