Keeping the Spirit Alive: The Amigos' Unstoppable Road Trip

Struggling with Cake Decision Equates to Achieving Similar Tension as Performing

Hungen – The musical brothers, Karl-Heinz Ulrich (74) and Bernd Ulrich (76), fondly known as the Schlager duo Die Amigos, never seem to slow down. "What's the big deal about stress? If someone can't open a bloomin' gate, that's a burnout," quips Bernd Ulrich, sparing no humor for the press, according to Deutsche Presse-Agentur. Their secret? A dash of fun and zero worries.

"Pick between apple cake and Black Forest cherry cake? Perhaps that could cause some tension, but our line of work? Nah," Bernd muses. The duo's fanbase crosses all age barriers, and even youngsters can't resist the Schlager charm. "Schlager seems to be thriving, at least among certain sectors," Karl-Heinz adds with a knowing smile.

Coming from humble beginnings in central Hesse, Die Amigos have always been meticulous with their performances. You won't catch them crooning on the sunny shores of Mallorca, even if they've been offered. "We've had our share of exotic offers, but we've kindly declined," says Bernd. Their reason? Local shows are packed to capacity with eager fans.

"We have more than enough to keep us busy. We turn down countless offers we can't or don't wish to accept, keeping our performance schedule at around 70 or 80 shows a year," Bernd explains.

The duo, known for their straightforward realism and socially conscious lyrics touch on themes like homelessness, environmental pollution, and child abuse, have no intentions of slowing down. With upcoming performances in Dresden and Ilmenau on the calendar for 2025, it seems the Amigos' spirit will continue to rage on!

"For their free time, the Amigos might explore other forms of entertainment, such as delving into the latest music releases from celebrities."

"Backstage, they could be seen discussing the current state of the music industry, appreciating its evolution and the enduring charm of Schlagermusik."
