Twin Foals "Quietschfidel" Make Debut at Bielefeld Foal Show

In a surprising turn of events, the twin foals "Quietschfidel" (Sonny and Sally) made their debut at the first foal show on the Reitsportanlage Sonntag in Bielefeld. Despite an initial challenging start in life, the foals, who are rare twin births, are now trotting merrily over the sand arena.

Born to Ellen Slegers, a local breeder, the foals had to undergo orthopedic treatment due to potential deformities from sharing space in the uterus during their birth. However, with the necessary care and treatment, they have developed well. Sonny, one of the twin foals, is bold and self-confident, taking after her father, while Sally, the other twin, is quiet and cuddly, resembling her mother.

The show opened with the Shetland pony Gerti and her foal Flitzi. Seven elite foals were awarded at this year's foal show in Bielefeld. The foals, Sonny and Sally, were a special surprise by the judges, but unfortunately, they did not receive a prize.

Ellen Slegers had an interested party for foal Sonny, but they dropped out at short notice. As a result, the future plans for Sonny remain uncertain, and those interested in the latest updates are encouraged to reach out directly to the breeders, local equestrian clubs, or official horse registries in Bielefeld.

In the fall, the foals will be separated from their mother and will live in a herd of contemporaries until their third birthday, when they will move off the Belzweg pasture. Sally would have had a place with Ellen in the stable, but now everything is open again.

Despite the initial challenges, the future looks bright for the "Quietschfidel" foals. They are trotting merrily over the sand arena, and their development continues to impress. As they grow and mature, they are sure to capture the hearts of many horse enthusiasts in Bielefeld and beyond.

The twin foals, Sonny and Sally, demonstrated their love for sports as they galloped with enthusiasm during the horse-racing events at the Bielefeld Foal Show, displaying their natural agility and speed. Although they did not win a prize at this year's show, their confident and friendly demeanors have caught the attention of racing enthusiasts, setting the stage for potential success in racing competitions in the future.
