Tom Bischof is set to return to his former club, TSG Hoffenheim, this weekend, marking a significant chapter in his football journey. The central midfielder, who joined Bayern Munich ten years after his time with the Kraichgauer, has been a full-fledged squad member for ten days.

Bischof's debut for Bayern came as a substitute in midweek fixtures against HSV and Chelsea. So far, he has played little over half an hour for the Bavarian giants.

His move to Bayern Munich was not a free transfer. The club paid around 300,000 euros to secure his services. Bischof's contract with Bayern runs until 2029.

For TSG Hoffenheim, Bischof played 70 official games. His last game for the club was on the 34th and final matchday of the previous season against FC Bayern. Now, he returns to his youth club, ready to make an impact.

In Bayern Munich's offensive midfield for the 2025/26 season, Bischof is considered a key creative player with strong defensive contributions. His competition includes Leon Goretzka, Aleksandar Pavlovic, and returning Paul Wanner. Bayern's recent signings of offensive talents such as Luis Díaz and Nicolas Jackson indicate a crowded and competitive midfield lineup.

Joshua Kimmich, Pavlovic, and Goretzka are currently ahead of Bischof in the hierarchy for the defensive midfield position. However, Bischof's talent and ability on the ball have not gone unnoticed. Vincent Kompany, the former Manchester City and RB Leipzig defender, praised Bischof, calling him talented and good on the ball.

Off the field, Bischof is in a high-profile relationship with Josefine Scholl, the daughter of Bayern legend Mehmet Scholl. There is a possibility of the couple making an appearance together at the official Munich Oktoberfest visit on October 5th.

As Bischof prepares to face his former club, he is still looking for his role and a place in the Bayern Munich team. His return to TSG Hoffenheim promises to be an emotional reunion, but the midfielder will be focused on making a mark in his new team.
