Experiences somewhat deviate from anticipated course - Struggles Arise: "Things aren't shaping up as expected"

Stepping up as the frontrunners in the German volleyball championship, the Berlin Volleys lead SVG Lüneburg by a significant margin of nine points heading into the playoffs. With a challenging quarterfinal encounter against the Netzhoppers Königs Wusterhausen looming on Sunday, diagonal attacker Daniel Malescha emphasizes the need to preserve momentum, steer clear of distractions, and keep the pressure on.

The Berlin dynasty's recent performances, however, have seen an uncertain rhythm. In their last five competitive encounters, the BR Volleys dominated the initial set by more than 10 points, only to encounter challenges in the ensuing sets. Two losses to Lüneburg were no exception.

Mystery looms in the second set

Saturday's 3:0 victory at home against ASV Dachau, the 18th-ranked team, proved to be no exception. The first set was comfortably in the bag with a score of 25:12, but the favorite team struggled to close out the second set, eventually sealing a 25:22 victory and a 2:0 lead.

Setter Djifa Amedegnato expressed his concerns, admiting, "The second set didn't go exactly as we had planned."

The Berlin champions aim to eliminate these performance inconsistencies in the climactic stages of the championship race. National player Moritz Reichert shares his sentiments, stating, "We've got another week to hone various aspects of our game and come back stronger for the playoffs."
