Struggle with Flexibility Prominent at Injury-Stricken PSG

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is currently grappling with a series of injuries to key players, including midfielder Joao Neves, who sustained a thigh injury during the Champions League match against Atalanta. The extent of Neves' injury will be determined through tests scheduled for Thursday or Friday.

With Neves sidelined, PSG's manager, Luis Enrique, has been managing the team's resources carefully. Behind the scenes, the club has been adjusting training sessions and granting rest days to ease workloads. In the absence of Neves, the young Senny Mayulu was started up front against Atalanta.

The injury situation at PSG is not unique. Even with careful management, players are not completely immune to injuries, especially considering the club's demanding schedule. Last season, PSG played a total of 65 matches, including a gruelling FIFA Club World Cup that extended their season until mid-July.

The high number of games and the demanding conditions during the FIFA Club World Cup have taken their toll on the team. Key players like Mendes, Vitinha, and Bradley Barcola have been relied upon heavily. However, the injury list continues to grow, with Ousmane Dembele, Desire Doue, and Lucas Beraldo also on the sidelines.

Despite the challenges, PSG remains optimistic. Goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier has stated that the club is not concerned about the current injury situation, as they can field a competitive team. Nuno Mendes, a fullback for PSG, echoes this sentiment, admitting that the squad is being tested but expressing confidence in their ability to handle the situation.

Luis Enrique acknowledges the complexity of managing the team under these circumstances. He has stated that they will not take risks with Dembele or Doue for the game against Olympique de Marseille, citing concerns about further knocks due to their increased workload.

As PSG prepares for their next match, they are relying on their depth and resilience to overcome the current injury crisis. With a strong squad and a determined spirit, they aim to continue their successful run in the upcoming games.
