Golfing fanatics, get ready! The American Family Insurance Championship is in full swing since this Friday! Thomas Bjørn and Darren Clarke have snagged the lead, ending the first round at a blistering -12.

This tournament is a mix of best ball on Friday and a scramble on Saturday.

Steve Stricker, Madison-native and tournament host, played alongside his brother-in-law Mario Tiziani and they nailed a -7, tying for ninth. Jerry Kelly, fellow Madisonian, and partner Justin Leonard shot -6, landing them in the top 18.

Both local golfers agreed that the course is in excellent condition, but it demands precision. As Stricker put it, "You've got to hit it in the fairway, and if you don't, I've got two guys hitting it in the fairway. That puts a lot of pressure on the other guy, and I'm betting that some teams used that advantage."

"Tomorrow, I'll be raring to go again," Kelly said. "It's going to be a tough catch-up, but I'm hoping we can keep our cool and let Everett shine. It's going to be fascinating to play the first-ever scramble on the PGA tour."
