German U21 Star Finn Jeltsch Sidelined by Lower Leg Inflammation

VfB Stuttgart defender Finn Jeltsch is currently out of the German U21 preparation camp due to an inflammation in his lower leg, the DFB Cup winners announced. The 18-year-old center-back was recently called up for the preliminary squad for the European Championship in Slovenia (11 to 28 June).

The setback comes as a significant blow for Jeltsch as he had been eagerly anticipated to make his debut with the U21 team at the upcoming tournament. At present, there is no specific information about his expected recovery time.

First selected for the U21s, Jeltsch, a prominent stalwart for the team, has been preparing with the squad in Thuringian Blankenhain for the European Championship. Regrettably, this inflammation has compelled him to depart from the camp.

It remains unclear if Jeltsch will recuperate in time to participate in the European Championship fixtures, scheduled to begin in mid-June 2025. Given the timing and proximity of the injury to the tournament, it's highly improbable he'll take part unless his recovery progresses at an accelerated pace for inflammatory injuries.

In an evolving situation, more updates regarding Jeltsch’s recovery are expected. The public is yet to receive a confirmed timeframe for his return to the U21 team.
