HCM CITY - Political ties between the Communist Party of Việt Nam (CPV) and the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) have grown stronger over time, as shown by a high-level delegation's visit to mark the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.

On Wednesday afternoon, Lê Hoài Trung, Secretary of the CPV Central Committee and Chief of the committee's Office, welcomed Jesús Germán Faría Tortosa, Vice President of the PSUV, and his delegation.

Trung lauded the decision to send a high-level delegation, expressing it as a testament to the strong, trustworthy relationship between the two parties. He also praised the continuing support of the Venezuelan people for the socialist cause of Việt Nam.

Trung reflected on the recent development of the relationship between the parties, expressing his hope for increased delegation exchanges and enhanced contacts at various levels through Party, State, Parliament, and people-to-people channels. He emphasized the importance of enforcing the cooperation agreement between the two parties for 2023-2028, maintaining political consultation mechanisms, and coordinating for the fourth meeting of the Vietnam-Venezuela Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee.

Trung expressed Việt Nam's continued appreciation for the solidarity and support from the Dominican people and commended the efforts of the MIU in promoting relations between the two countries. He suggested intensifying delegation exchanges, effective implementation of political consultation mechanisms, and establishing the joint committee mechanism to drive bilateral trade and investment.

Trung also urged negotiations for signing cooperation documents to refine the legal framework for cooperation and continued exploration of potential investment opportunities in various sectors, including construction materials, oil and gas exploitation, semiconductors, high technology, tourism, and agriculture.
