Strengthening Absence Indicates Security Concerns: Presence is Imperative
In the heart of Solingen, the Kersting House—a facility of security relevance that serves as a joint service point for the city's Ordnance Office and Police—has temporarily closed its doors. This unexpected closure has sparked concern among the city's residents, particularly the Citizens' Initiative for Solingen (BfS), who view the Kersting House as a visible and important sign of order, accessibility, and protection.
Martin Bender, a candidate for Mayor in Solingen, as part of the BfS, has expressed his disbelief at the closure. He considers it incomprehensible, especially given the current times of increasing uncertainty. Bender further emphasised that security is a central concern for the BfS and takes the concerns of the people seriously.
The city administration announced the temporary closure, citing a technical defect in the heating system as the reason. However, the BfS has called for the prompt reopening of the Kersting House, stressing the importance of maintaining and enhancing the security infrastructure in Solingen.
The Citizens' Initiative for Solingen (BfS) has also advocated for an expansion of the Kersting House with increased personnel, stating that it would send an important signal for the security feeling in the city center. Bender added that the concerns of the people regarding security in Solingen are taken seriously by the BfS.
The BfS expects the city administration to show visible presence and act swiftly in such situations. They have also emphasised their continued active advocacy for the preservation and expansion of the presence of law enforcement and police in the community.
As the municipal election approaches, the BfS has called for the reopening of the Kersting House beyond the election, reiterating their stance on the importance of security in Solingen. The BfS's stance on this matter underscores their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the city's residents.
Martin Bender, a candidate for Mayor in Solingen, finds the temporary closure of the Kersting House, a vital security hub, incomprehensible, especially in times of growing uncertainties. The BfS, alongside Bender, advocates for the Kersting House to swiftly reopen, highlighting its significance in maintaining and enhancing Solingen's security infrastructure, particularly in the realm of politics and crime-and-justice.
