Strengthened Crowds Attend ASI Exhibition in Dallas

The Advertising Specialty Institute®'s Dallas event, held from February 1 to 3, 2010 at the Dallas Convention Center, marked a significant milestone for the promotional products industry. Timothy M. Andrews, president of The ASI Show and president and CEO of ASI, expressed his satisfaction with the event, stating that he was pleased with the attendance and the steady stream of attendees conducting business throughout both event days. The event attracted distributors from 1,383 firms, with a total distributor attendance of 3,300. Many exhibitors were also pleased with the turnout. Ralph Horack, of Gemini Industries (asi/56100), expressed satisfaction with the traffic flow, good people, and interest in their products at ASI Dallas. Mark Gammon of The Vernon Company (asi/351700) praised ASI Dallas for being a perfect time to catch up with preferred suppliers. Jeff Jacobson of Impact Advertising (asi/62293) noted that ASI Dallas had the best booth traffic in the last three to four years, with lots of interest and written orders. Gary Tuchler of Brown & Bigelow (asi/148500) expressed satisfaction with distributors seeing the hottest products on the show floor at ASI Dallas. Suppliers at ASI Dallas were generally pleased with the quality of attendees and the traffic during the two exhibition days. There were about 500 suppliers at the ASI Dallas event, slightly less than the previous year. The event featured thousands of new products and services for the start of the year. ASI Dallas also attracted over 700 attendees to education workshops, with 55 education workshops sponsored by Fields Mfg. Unfortunately, information about which companies participated in the sculpting workshop at the ASI trade show in Dallas 2010 is not publicly available. Andrews also mentioned that the trends at ASI Dallas mirror those of other events, with the number of firms remaining about the same as the previous year, but each firm bringing slightly fewer people. Despite a slight decrease in the number of distributor attendees, approximately 250 fewer than the previous year (excluding a one-time third party event), the industry leader expressed optimism, stating that the industry is focused on growing quality attendance in a productive event environment that helps distributors, suppliers, and decorators seize momentum and forge ahead. The Ultimate Texas Bash at Eddie Deen's Ranch was a popular event at ASI Dallas, providing a fun and relaxing atmosphere for attendees to unwind after a day of business. Overall, ASI Dallas 2010 was a successful event, marking a turning point for the promotional products industry.
