Street Closures Scheduled for Half Marathon Hamburg on Sunday
Coming Sunday, the Hella Half Marathon takes place in Hamburg! Expect some street disruptions in the city center, Altona, and around the port
Due to the Hella Half Marathon on coming Sunday between 7 AM and 2:30 PM, there will be street closures and traffic delays. The race route kicks off at the Reeperbahn, meanders through Altona and along the port, encircles the Alster, and ends at the Messehallen. Roadblocks will be implemented on the Reeperbahn and Millerntorplatz as early as 4 AM for race setup. In the finish area (near the Kirchhöfen/Jungiusstraße), restrictions will remain longer.
Navigate the City Despite Roadblocks
Bus lines in Altona, the city center, and around the Außenalster will operate with limited service and may not follow their complete route. Travelers are encouraged to avoid buses and opt for the U- or S-Bahn instead. Motorists are suggested to navigate around the city center, Dammtor Bahnhof, and the Alster using the northern ring (Gaertnerstraße, Hudtwalckerstraße, Barmbeker Straße).
Event personnel will allow local residents to exit the restricted zones if needed. However, the organizer advises parking vehicles outside the race route prior to street closures.
