Streamlining Proposals for Administrative Simplification by Federal Departments
The federal government is gearing up for a significant move to reduce bureaucracy within federal ministries. According to reports, the relevant authorities are evaluating relief measures aimed at achieving this goal.
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Digital and State Modernization, one of the departments currently working on relief projects, has confirmed these reports. Digital Minister Karsten Wildberger (CDU) has been a strong advocate for this initiative, urging federal ministries to submit concrete plans for bureaucracy reduction by September 15.
The relief measures, yet to be disclosed, will be the focus of a cabinet meeting in October. The topics of deregulation and de-bureaucratization are expected to take centre stage during this meeting.
These measures are said to include launching a 2025 immediate program to cut rules and documentation duties, implementing stronger sanctions only for concrete violations, simplifying procurement, and pushing digitalization with a centralized platform offering digital administrative services, mandatory citizen digital identities, and enabling digital business registrations within 24 hours.
The federal government, reportedly, is in agreement regarding these relief measures. Specific plans for bureaucracy reduction are expected to become clearer during the October cabinet meeting after the government has evaluated the reduction proposals submitted by the federal ministries.
The Ministry of Digital and State Modernization is responsible for modernizing administration, reducing bureaucracy, data traffic, and improving networks. Internal government consultations are ongoing for further details about these relief measures.
The relief measures, once decided upon in the October cabinet meeting, are expected to provide clarity and pave the way for a more efficient federal administration. Stay tuned for more updates as we await the details of these planned relief measures.
