Streaming Services to Host "Sinners" Starting Next Week

Beginning Tuesday, June 3, Ryan Coogler's "Sinners," the period piece vampire thriller that has been captivating audiences since its mid-April release, will be available for home viewing on VOD platforms like Prime Video and Apple TV. While the film can currently be purchased for $25 on these platforms, there are no renting options available at present. For those who prefer physical media, the film will become available in standard formats on Tuesday, July 8. The home release includes deleted scenes, featurettes on the movie's music, creature FX, among other special features, but an HBO Max release date has yet to be announced.

In a heartwarming development, "Sinners" finally made its way to its original setting, Clarksdale, Mississippi, after an online movement to screen it in the theaterless town. The film will play six times over a three-day period, courtesy of Warner Bros., who provided the city's civic auditorium with a big screen, projector, and sound system. Director Ryan Coogler and key production members, including composer Ludwig Göransson and actor Miles Caton, were present at the screening, which attracted flocks of local residents and nearby visitors. The film was widely praised for its authentic portrayal of Clarksdale and the Jim Crow era, and its attention could potentially draw more attention to the town.

While "Sinners" is still playing in theaters in non-IMAX formats, Warner Bros. has no immediate plans to pull it from theaters. Once it does, home viewers will undoubtedly appreciate having the film readily available.
