Streaming platform OTT.X, Cineverse, and Pledge unite for California wildfire aid initiative
In the aftermath of the devastating Eaton Canyon Fire, several charities and streaming platforms are joining forces to help those affected.
A local teen named Avery has started Altadena Girls, an initiative aimed at helping young girls regain their sense of self and confidence after the fire. The organisation is one of the recipients of a campaign launched by OTT.X, a home entertainment trade association, in collaboration with fundraising platform Pledge and Cineverse.
The campaign, which initially involved ten charities, is seeking monetary donations to support California wildfire relief. Cineverse, a streaming platform reaching 80 million viewers a month on its network alone, has made a corporate donation of $10,000 to charitable organisations supporting Los Angeles wildfire relief.
To raise awareness and encourage donations, Cineverse has created a 15-second spot. Viewers across dozens of streaming channels, including Barney, Comedy Dynamics, Crime Hunters, Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan, Dove Channel, RetroCrush, and The Bob Ross Channel, are prompted to text GIVELA to 707070 or scan a QR code to make a donation.
Other charities involved in the relief efforts include Pasadena Humane, which has rescued over 400 animals from the Eaton Fire Emergency and urgently needs funds to cover medical supplies and resources as it cares for the increasing number of burned and injured animals arriving at its shelter.
Los Angeles Food Bank, with partner agencies, is providing vital assistance to those impacted by the fires, which have disrupted access to nutritious food. Baby2Baby has provided over 2 million emergency supplies to children and families affected by the Los Angeles fires and continues to offer support in the difficult weeks and months ahead.
Mental health services are also crucial in the recovery process. The Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation is providing vital mental health services to marginalized communities in areas devastated by the L.A. wildfires. Chamber of Mothers L.A. Chapter is supporting moms and their families suffering from the L.A. wildfires through various local initiatives and psychological support services.
Lastly, Animal Wellness Foundation and California Fire Foundation are in need of monetary donations to provide medical care, food, and shelter for the growing number of burned and injured animals and firefighters affected by the L.A. fires, respectively.
While there are no recent search results specifically detailing updates on the OTT.X California wildfire relief campaign, it appears that either no major OTT.X wildfire relief campaign has been launched recently or it has not been widely reported yet.
