In the world of television, news of a renewal is always cause for excitement, and that's exactly what happened with the beloved sitcom Frasier. The popular series from the 1990s, known for its sharp wit and clever humour, was officially renewed for a second season by Paramount+ in February 2024.

The reboot premiered in October 2023, and despite mixed critical reviews, it gained significant viewer traction leading to the renewal. The renewal announcement was made specifically by Paramount+, but no detailed production location was highlighted in the sources. The original Frasier series was famously set in Seattle, but the reboot moves Frasier back to Boston.

The second season of the Frasier reboot began production on May 9, 2024. This renewal follows the October 2023 reboot premiere, motivated by strong viewer numbers despite mixed reviews.

Frasier Crane, played by Kelsey Grammer, was first introduced in the hot comedy Cheers as a psychiatrist and love interest for Diane Chambers. The character became so popular that the makers considered a spin-off based on Frasier, and in 1994, the spin-off series premiered and ran for 11 seasons.

The spin-off series focuses on Frasier Crane's life in Seattle, his family, and his work as a radio psychiatrist. Besides Frasier Crane, characters like his brother Niles Crane (David Hyde Pierce), his father Martin Crane (John Mahoney), his housekeeper Daphne Moon (Jane Leeves) also became widely popular household names.

The luxurious apartment where Frasier lived was not a real place but a perfectly crafted set on a soundstage. Frasier Crane became the longest-running character on US primetime television. The original Frasier series won 37 Primetime Emmy Awards during its 11-year run, making it one of the most critically acclaimed comedy series and one of the most successful spin-off series in television history.

Currently, Frasier and the original series are available for streaming on JioHotstar. The reboot of the Frasier series is also available on JioHotstar, featuring Frasier reuniting with his adult son Frederick Crane. Kelsey Grammer, who played Frasier Crane, had a unique clause in his contract that allowed him to skip rehearsals, provided he delivered during filming.
