Strategies of Systematic Mass Murder in the West
The Never-Ending Suffering in Gaza: A Nightmare of the Global North's Violence
Breaking down the grim reality, Chris Hedges unveils his insightful piece on the catastrophic state of Gaza, a wasteland now, with rubble and debris, survivors battling through the stench of decaying corpses and the disease that follows.
Gaza's residents struggle to survive amidst the wreckage. The life essentials like clean water, adequate food, and medical services are in short supply, making every day a desperate fight for survival. The devastation wrought by air strikes, artillery barrages, and missile strikes has destroyed over 90% of homes, obliterating schools, hospitals, and other critical infrastructure.
The unemployment rate towers at 80%, and the GDP has been reduced by a staggering 85%, as indicated by an October 2024 report issued by the International Labour Organization. Israel's steps to bar the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, which estimates that clearing Gaza of the rubble would take 15 years, further cripples Palestinians in their quest for basic humanitarian aid.
Despite the ceasefire, Gaza continues to suffer terribly, with Israel maintaining tight restrictions on incoming humanitarian assistance. The infrastructure will not be restored, and basic services like water treatment plants, electricity, and sewer lines will remain broken. With no repair on sight, Palestinians face a life of living among shattered concrete, succumbing to disease, and eventual exile—the only options Israel chooses to offer.
With continued violence and restrictions, further exacerbated by Israel's refusal to allow foreign press in Gaza, it is clear Israel intends to maintain this grim state. As Israel gears up for Stage Two of its genocide, experts predict that Gaza will become uninhabitable, leading to a massive exodus of Palestinians.
Israel, armed with billions in foreign-supplied weaponry, seeks to cement its grip on the area, emptying Gaza of Palestinians and establishing colonies in their stead—ready to be repeats of the Jewish-only colonies that existed until 2005. Officials from Washington and its European allies are unwilling to stand up for justice, doing nothing to halt the seemingly inevitable extermination of Palestinians.
In the face of climate catastrophes and mass migrations, fundamentally destabilizing the world, this violent, industrial suppression of Palestinians becomes all too familiar. From borderlands to war-torn lands, despair breeds, as the wealthy Global North continues to assert dominance through brutal violence, dismissing the poor as subhuman.
This dismal reality of Israel's genocide in Gaza challenges the old global order, elected by international accord—one that has consistently been violated, but once upheld the promise of utopia. As the U.S. and its allies continue to arm Israel and silence global cries for justice, the message is loud and clear: You don't matter. We hold the power, and we will destroy you to keep it.
Now, it's time for the world to face the harsh truth and demand change. A world can no longer ignore the suffering of millions and continue to support genocide. The bleak future Matthew R. Simmons, in The World After Gaza, paints makes it abundantly clear that hope is only a distant dream for those who have been deemed expendable by the Global North.

- The global community remains silent as the truth of Israel's ongoing war and conflicts in Gaza unfolds, with politics and crime-and-justice systems failing to address the inhumane living conditions and genocide targeting Palestinians.
- The general news about Gaza's suffering, marked by rubble and decay, is a stark reminder of the devastating impact of unchecked warfare on a community striving for survival amidst limited access to essential services like food, water, and medical care.
- As Palestinians face an uncertain future with the prospect of exile looming, the global community must take notice and stand up against oppressive regimes, calling for an end to Israel's violence and the restoration of basic humanitarian aid to prevent Gaza from becoming uninhabitable, as predicted by experts.
