Bouncing Back: Reopening Demopark Eisenach After Storm Evacuation

Storm Clears, Demopark Eisenach Resumes Operations Following Evacuation - Storm clearance leads to Demopark Eisenach reopening

Here's the scoop! The Demopark grounds in Eisenach are all set to reopen, as initially planned, following the storm-induced evacuation last week. The announcement comes from Christoph Goetz, Demopark's spokesperson, who spoke to the German Press Agency in Erfurt. He stated, "All things considered, the evacuation process went relatively smoothly." No casualties were reported, though a minor or two might've walked away with a scratch or two – nothing serious enough for hospital treatment.

Goetz attributed this positive outcome to the swift collaboration with the local fire department and police in deciding to pull the plug on the event. Over 10,000 visitors had to vacate the grounds during the current special exhibition "Lawn" on Monday. Miraculously, none of the technology showcased suffered any damages. Demopark took additional safety measures beforehand, such as securing fences and other structures that might pose a threat.

Eastern Germany was hit by a severe storm on Monday. The capital city Berlin bore the brunt of the storm, causing over 500 deployments and a temporary shutdown of the S-Bahn traffic. Long-distance traffic was interrupted around Berlin at times. At least three individuals sustained serious injuries during the storm, and one woman lost her life.
