Stone Pony and Devils Team Up for Charity Jersey Launch in Asbury Park

The Stone Pony, a legendary music venue in Asbury Park, is marking its 50th anniversary in 2024. Known for its deep ties to rock history, the venue has hosted surprise performances by Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi over the years. Now, it's teaming up with the New Jersey Devils for a special charity event.

On 25 February, the Stone Pony and the New Jersey Devils will unveil a custom jersey for the team's Down the Shore Night. The design blends elements from both the venue and the hockey club, including a modified white horse logo—now with a Devil's tail. It also features sketches of Asbury Park landmarks: a bagel, a seagull, ocean waves, and the sun, all woven into a 'New Jersey' pattern. One standout detail is a guitar patch from the 2022 Devils Draft Party guitar, which hangs inside the Stone Pony on the New Jersey Wall.

All profits from the jersey sales will go to local charities, including Mercy Center and Community Karma. Mercy Center provides food for 150 families, supports 6,000 victims of domestic violence, and shelters 30 to 40 disabled homeless individuals in Asbury Park. Community Karma, meanwhile, runs toy and backpack drives for underserved children and families, with the Stone Pony and Mercy Center as long-standing partners. This collaboration with the Devils will help Community Karma extend its outreach across the state.

The Stone Pony has been a cornerstone of Asbury Park's cultural identity for decades. Famous for its live music, the venue sits near the town's beaches and boardwalk, reinforcing the area's reputation as a hub for both entertainment and community spirit.

The jersey launch ties together music, sports, and charity in a single event. Funds raised will directly assist organizations like Mercy Center and Community Karma, which serve vulnerable groups in Asbury Park. The partnership also highlights the Stone Pony's ongoing role in supporting local causes during its milestone year.
