Steve McCurry's Iconic Works on Display in Istanbul's 'The Haunted Eye' Exhibition

World-renowned photographer Steve McCurry has launched his latest exhibition, 'The Haunted Eye', in Istanbul. The event is a highlight of the Türkiye Culture Route Festival and is presented by 212 Photography Istanbul, with backing from the Culture and Tourism Ministry.

McCurry, who first visited Istanbul in 1970 as a young student, has returned many times for assignments. The exhibition, held at the Tophane-i Amire Culture and Arts Center, features 25 of his most celebrated works, including the iconic 1984 'Afghan Girl' portrait. Additionally, 160 photographs are being shown for the first time.

The exhibition is a result of the 212 Photography Festival's mission to bring globally acclaimed artists to Istanbul. McCurry traveled from the United States to attend the opening of the exhibition.

The 'The Haunted Eye' exhibition will remain open until November 30, 2023, offering visitors a unique opportunity to explore McCurry's extensive and influential career.
