Steve Carell shines in Rooster, HBO's sharp new comedy series
Steve Carell returns to television in Rooster, a fresh comedy series now airing on HBO. The show premiered on 8 March and has already drawn strong reviews from critics. The opening theme, *I Played the Fool*, was written specifically for *Rooster*. Michael Stipe and Andrew Watt teamed up for the first time on the track, which also features Travis Barker on drums and Josh Klinghoffer on guitar and piano. Watt kickstarted the project by sending a raw demo to the show's creators, who were immediately moved by its emotional tone. The song is Stipe's first new release in three years.
