His captivity started with overnight lockups and escalated as his education was withdrawn, leaving him confined to a cramped, unheated room measuring roughly 7 square meters.
A former elementary school principal reported multiple unanswered calls to child protective services, as well as several attempts to contact the accused stepmother, condemning the inaction that prolonged the boy's torment. Neighbors saw no sign of this tragedy unfolding, with the boy rarely making an appearance.
Investigations revealed that the man was detained for over twenty years, a victim of sustained abuse and inhumane treatment. He received no medical care until his emancipation. The woman's lawyer stated that she is currently in hiding, refraining from using an ankle monitor.
