Stefan Weckbach began his career at Porsche in 2008, working on product strategy and leading the development of the Taycan, the brand’s first all-electric model. He later oversaw the Cayenne line before moving to Volkswagen in 2023. At Volkswagen’s Wolfsburg headquarters, he became head of group strategy, product strategy, and corporate secretariat, working closely with CEO Oliver Blume.
Weckbach’s arrival marks a new phase for AMG as it continues to expand its high-performance and luxury vehicle divisions. His background in electric vehicle development and strategic planning is expected to shape the brand’s future direction. The transition follows a period of interim leadership and strong sales performance, solidifying AMG's brand identity in the competitive automotive market.
