Will he take a longer TV break? - Stefan Raab’s RTL late-night news show extends into 2026 with festive specials
RTL has confirmed plans for Stefan Raab’s programming into 2026, including his weekly late-night news show. The broadcaster will also schedule festive specials for Christmas and New Year’s Eve. Exact dates for some 2026 news broadcasts remain to be announced.
The final episode of The Stefan Raab Show in 2025 will air on December 17. After this, the programme will pause over the Christmas and New Year period. RTL has set two special broadcasts for the holidays: the film Sissi on December 24 and The Ultimate Chart Show: The Biggest Discofox Hits—New Year’s Special on December 31.
Raab’s five-year contract with RTL ensures his late-night news show continues in 2026. The format, running since September 2025, features humour, parodies, and entertainment segments. Additional shows like Raab und Elton – Die Unzerquizbaren are also planned, though their exact air dates have yet to be finalised.
No further Wednesday primetime shows have been confirmed for January 2026. RTL will announce more details about Raab’s 2026 news schedule in the coming months.
The broadcaster’s lineup for late 2025 includes Raab’s final show of the year followed by festive programming. In 2026, his weekly late-night series and other formats will return, with RTL releasing specific dates at a later stage. The schedule reflects ongoing collaboration between the host and the network under his long-term contract.
