Yo! 🤛

Wadephul, Germany's new Foreign Minister, dropped by Warsaw together with Jean-Noël Barrot from France. These two dudes chatted it up in Paris before this, and Wadephul made his debut overseas in the French capital. Now, he's in Poland's capital.

In Warsaw, Wadephul stressed that more support is needed for Ukraine, stating, "There are 'different ways' to help 'em out." He emphasized the importance of "making resources available to support Ukraine." He sent a clear message to Moscow: "Everyone in Moscow must know that they will have to reckon with us."

EU Foreign Ministers are huddling up in Warsaw for a couple of days to talk about deepening relations with the UK, the Russian war in Ukraine, and those relations with the US. The British Foreign Secretary, David Lammy, was part of the talks.

"We're really psyched to collaborate with the new German government," Lammy mentioned on the sidelines of the meeting. Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen expressed high expectations for Germany's new administration. She's pleased that Germany's got a functioning government again. To speed things up, the EU needs to kick it into high gear regarding the war in Ukraine and common European defense.

When asked about Merz's defeat in the first round, both Valtonen and Lammy opted to focus on the future. They ain't got time for petty politics.

Wadephul also chatted about German-Polish relations in Warsaw. The German government plans to elevate the friendship with Poland in the new term, dubbing it a "new dimension." Poland is "of particular importance," and Germany intends to pour resources into strengthening that bond. Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz dashed off to Poland after his inaugural jaunt to Paris to link up with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
