Peace Restored in Rivers State, Says Wike

After President Bola Tinubu lifted the state of emergency in Rivers State, Minister Nyesom Wike has declared that peace has been fully restored in the oil-rich state. In an interview on Channels Television, Wike revealed that he had spoken with Governor Siminalayi Fubara since the emergency rule was lifted.

According to Wike, peace has now fully returned to Rivers State, and other stakeholders have resolved to allow peace to reign. However, he cautioned that certain individuals may try to create crises to benefit from them, but he did not mention any specific individuals.

Wike also stated that if he didn't want the state of emergency declared by President Tinubu in the state to end, he could have done one or two things to ensure it continues. But he assured that he is fully in support of the peace process and complete restoration of democracy in Rivers State.

Governor Fubara informed Wike that he would be leaving in the morning, but the context does not provide any new information about Fubara's expected actions or Wike's forgiveness towards him. The Rivers State Assembly has taken actions to maintain peace and prepare for the state's interest.

Peace has continued in Rivers State, as of yesterday, and Wike stated that if they wanted the state of emergency to continue, they could have taken actions to ensure that. The declaration was made by Wike after President Tinubu lifted the emergency rule in Rivers State.

In the interview, Wike did not specify what actions he was referring to. The video of Wike's interview on Channels Television was not specified to have been seen. Nevertheless, Wike's declaration brings hope for a peaceful and democratic future for Rivers State.
