Lower Saxony stands firm on funding fiber optic expansion for faster Internet, announced by the SPD and Green parties recently. A warning came from the "Glasfaserland Niedersachsen" alliance, stating that without municipal and state co-financing, Lower Saxony would lose federal funds for fiber optic expansion.
