The Railway Ministry has announced several initiatives aimed at enhancing the convenience of passengers traveling by train in Bihar during the upcoming Diwali and Chhath festivals.
Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has confirmed that over 12,000 trains will be operated during this period, providing ample opportunities for travel. Among these, confirmed tickets will be made available for passengers traveling between October 13th and 26th, and returning between October 17th and December 1st. A 20% discount will be offered on the return journey for those taking advantage of this service.
One of the notable developments is the forthcoming Vande Bharat train between Purnia and Patna, scheduled to be launched in September 2023. However, the announcement does not specify any new trains connecting Purnia and Patna, or other previously mentioned routes such as the Amrit Bharat train or the Buddha Circuit train.
The Amrit Bharat train initiative is still in progress, with four Amrit Bharat Express trains set to start from Gaya to Delhi, Saharsa to Amritsar, Chhapra to Delhi, and Muzaffarpur to Hyderabad. These trains will cater to general class passengers, providing an affordable travel option for many.
In addition to these developments, the Railway Ministry has also planned a Buddha Circuit train connecting places associated with Buddha, such as Nalanda and Rajgir. This initiative aims to promote spiritual tourism and showcase the rich cultural heritage of Bihar.
These announcements mark a significant step towards improving rail services in Bihar and ensuring a comfortable travel experience for passengers during the festive season. For more updates on railways and other news, stay tuned.
