Trial Kicks Off Against Controversial Seeg Mayor

As the liquidator of an association, the allegations claim that he transferred approximately 825,000 euros to his private account and unjustifiably neglected to collect lease receivables of around 570,000 euros for the association.
In another incident, a head of a care service is accused of illicitly obtaining another 270,000 euros from the care bailout fund along with his spouse, who has additionally been indicted. However, the court has decided to sever proceedings against the spouse due to health concerns, implying only Berktold and the care service manager will be on trial from November 27.
At the beginning of the year, Berktold was reportedly remanded into custody, and, yet, has not commented on the accusations. The couple confessed to all the allegations against them.
