Preseason Triumph: Dallas Wings Shine Amid Glow of Paige Bueckers

The Dallas Wings wrapped up the preseason with a bang, triumphing over Japan's Toyota Antelopes 119-52 on Saturday night. The Wings' victorious streak was propelled by none other than rookie phenom Paige Bueckers, who unleashed a stunning display of basketball brilliance.

Bueckers shone like a star against the Antelopes, clocking in 15 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, and a tantalizing block in her 23 minutes on court. Her showing was a testament to her prodigious talent and unrelenting determination.

The rookie dazzled the crowd with a series of breathtaking assists and lightning-quick drives to the basket, demonstrating her readiness to conquer the WNBA regular season.

In addition to Bueckers, Dallas' starting lineup was a powerhouse, withArike Ogunbowale spearheading the charge. Ogunbowale soared to 17 points in her 20 minutes, impressively draining four three-pointers.

The Wings' roster is strengthened by new recruits, namely Myisha Hines-Allen, NaLyssa Smith, and DiJonai Carrington. Carrington, in particular, was a spark of energy, contributing 12 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals in just 22 minutes.

Carrington has become a valuable addition to the Wings, having been acquired in the trade for Satou Sabally earlier this year.

Guardian Angel Ogunbowale and the Promising Prodigy

With the arrival of Paige Bueckers, Arike Ogunbowale has a newfound sense of excitement about the 2025 WNBA season. Ogunbowale revealed the impact Bueckers has had on the team during a post-game interview.

"The first week of training camp and the first preseason game, I wasn't ready for how open I was, but now I'm used to it because we have great players who are going to draw a lot of attention. I will get easy buckets," Ogunbowale beamed.

Ogunbowale is accustomed to playing on a team with less firepower. Now, with Bueckers joining the ranks, the Wings boast a formidable roster ready to make a splash in the league.

"I'm really excited about that just for the rest of the year... Obviously, I'll take my hard shots here and there, but that's gonna be limited because players like Paige and DiJonai, and then our fours, their back-door passes. They're gonna get me easy buckets and vice versa, so I'm excited about that," Ogunbowale shared.

Dallas fans have every reason to be thrilled about the 2025 WNBA season as the team gears up for a home opener against the Minnesota Lynx on Friday.

The Dallas Wings, with Paige Bueckers' impressive performance, are poised to deliver a strong showing in the upcoming WNBA playoffs, given her breathtaking assists and lightning-quick drives. Arike Ogunbowale, who is excited about the 2025 season, is confident that the team's formidable roster, including Bueckers, will bring success to the regular season and potentially clinch playoff scores.
