Get ready for a night of glitz and glamour as the 75th German Film Awards, affectionately known as the 'Lolas',roll into Berlin's Theater am Potsdamer Platz! This high-profile event, expected to draw 1,700 guests, is all about honouring homegrown cinema and its luminary figures.
Taking the helm as the master of ceremonies is the multi-talented Christian Friedel. Best known for his roles in Oscar-winning films "The Zone of Interest" and "Das weiße Band", hit series "White Lotus", and as a composer, Friedel will kick off the show with an original song, accompanied by his band Woods of Birnam.

"The Seed of the Holy Fig Tree", helmed by Iranian director Mohammad Rasoulof, is nominated in six categories, including Best Film and Best Director. Meanwhile, "September 5" has secured an unprecedented ten nominations, detailing the heart-wrenching story of the 1972 Munich Olympics attack.
Some other flickering contenders for Best Feature Film include "In Love, Yours, Hilde", a gripping drama about resistance fighter Hilde Coppi, the chilling thriller "Islands", the thought-provoking social drama "Vena", and "Cologne 75", anARTistic exploration of Keith Jarrett's legendary concert in the cathedral city.
