Insolvency Administrator: No Current Interested Parties for Starcar - Starcar GmbH files for insolvency, risking 600 jobs nationwide

Starcar GmbH, one of Germany’s largest car rental and mobility service providers, has filed for insolvency. The company submitted its application in Hamburg in October 2025, putting over 600 jobs at risk across its nationwide locations.

The insolvency administrator, Christoph Morgen, confirmed that no buyers have come forward to take over Starcar as a whole. His team is now preparing for a significant reduction in operations starting January 2026.

If no solution emerges, Starcar’s operations will shrink from early 2026, with a full exit possible by March. The insolvency process will determine the fate of its workforce and assets in the coming months. Over 600 staff members currently face uncertainty about their future with the company.
