Stakes Race Analysis for every contender in the Group 3 Sweet Solera event

The 2025 Sweet Solera Stakes, a Group 3 race, is set to take place with six runners vying for the top spot. Among them, Dance To The Music, trained by Charlie Appleby, stands as the market favourite.

Dance To The Music, a 2-year-old filly, made a striking debut win at Newmarket over 6f. Ridden by Billy Loughnane, she carries a weight of 9st 2lb and has current odds of 6/4. Despite missing an intended run at Royal Ascot, she is expected to perform well in this 7f race.

Midnight Tango, trained by Ed Walker, is considered a good each-way bet. She has shown promise, stepping up impressively in class, earning black type in a Listed race at Newmarket and finishing fourth in the Group 3 Princess Margaret Stakes at Ascot. With jockey Marco Ghiani in the saddle, she looks slightly overpriced given her form.

Another strong contender is Venetian Lace, rated highly by tipsters. She has run solid races against colts and geldings, notably finishing close 4th in the Chesham and Superlative Stakes. Despite hanging left in her last run, this is attributed to greenness rather than fault, and she is expected to lead from the front and dominate her rivals. The current betting odds of around 5/1 to 6/1 are considered generous for her form.

Princess Petrol, trained by Ed Walker, and Sapphire Steps, whose trainer is not specified, are less favoured in the race based on available information. Princess Petrol has made an eye-catching debut at Newbury and won a novice race at Ascot, while Sapphire Steps' form is not yet known.

True Test, trained by Charlie Appleby and ridden by Oisin Murphy, is another filly in the race. She was beaten by Dance To The Music on debut but has since shown promise with an easy win at Hamilton and a close second in a listed race over course and distance.

The Sweet Solera Stakes is set to be a thrilling race, with Dance To The Music as the favourite, Venetian Lace and Midnight Tango offering value bets, and the other contenders looking to upset the odds.

Midnight Tango, with odds suggesting a good each-way bet, has shown form impressive enough to compete in the horse-racing event, the Sweet Solera Stakes, having earned black type in a Listed race and finishing fourth in the Group 3 Princess Margaret Stakes at Ascot. Venetian Lace, considered a strong contender and favoured by tipsters, has shown solid racing against colts and geldings, making her a potential threat to the market favourite Dance To The Music in the sports race, the Sweet Solera Stakes.
