Derby-Pyro: DFB Fines St. Pauli €125,000 - St. Pauli fined €125,000 after fan misconduct in Hamburg derby

FC St. Pauli has been fined €125,000 after its fans were accused of unsporting behaviour. The penalty follows a heated Hamburg derby against Hamburger SV on 29 August 2021. The match, held at Volksparkstadion, ended in a 2–0 victory for St. Pauli.

The German Football Association (DFB) imposed the fine after reviewing incidents during the game. Officials cited the conduct of St. Pauli fans as the reason for the punishment. The club’s fans were found to have acted in ways deemed unsporting by the DFB’s sports court.

The €125,000 penalty stands as a financial consequence of the fans’ actions. FC St. Pauli will need to address the issue while preparing for future fixtures. The outcome also serves as a reminder of the strict rules governing fan behaviour in German football.
