FC St. Pauli Kick Off 2025 Season with a Win

In a pre-season friendly match played in Hamburg, Germany, FC St. Pauli secured a 1:0 victory over Italian Serie A side Hellas Verona. The match, which took place two weeks before their Bundesliga opener against Borussia Dortmund, was a significant warm-up for the Kiez Club as they gear up for the competitive season.

The goal was scored by Andréas Hountondji in the 15th minute, with Joel Chima Fujita setting up the winning strike. FC St. Pauli's dominance, particularly in the first half, contributed to their victory against their Italian opponents. The match, however, was played a week before their DFB-Pokal match against Eintracht Norderstedt, which will take place at the Millerntor-Stadion.

The Kiez Club has agreed to host Regionalliga side Norderstedt at their Millerntor Stadium for the DFB-Pokal match next Saturday. The kickoff time for the match is 3:30 PM CET, and it will be live on Sky. As of now, details about the performance or result of this match are not available, as it is scheduled for August 16, 2025.

The first competitive match of the season for FC St. Pauli will be against Borussia Dortmund on August 23, with the kickoff time set for 6:30 PM CET. The match will also be live on Sky, providing fans with the opportunity to watch their favourite team in action from the start of the competitive season.

The first competitive match of the season will not be played at the Millerntor Stadium, but the Kiez Club will be hosting a home match against Norderstedt in the DFB-Pokal. The win against Hellas Verona could potentially boost the team's confidence before their upcoming matches, including the highly anticipated match against Borussia Dortmund.

The Kiez Club, having secured financial aid to support their sports activities, will allocate a portion of it towards offering community aid to help improve facilities at the Millerntor Stadium, with the hope of creating a more welcoming environment for football enthusiasts.

Given their successful pre-season performance in the 1:0 victory over Italian Serie A side Hellas Verona, FC St. Pauli is eyeing a strong showing in European-leagues, particularly the premier-league, where they aim to make a significant impact.
