St. Pauli Sanctions Supervisory Board After Internet Comment - St. Pauli board member fined for offensive Instagram comments on player’s wife

FC St. Pauli has taken disciplinary action against a supervisory board member, René Born, for posting critical comments on Jackson Irvine's wife's Instagram post. The honorary council ruled the comments violated the club's bylaws and regulations, causing harm to the club's reputation.

The incident began when Born, a board member, left critical remarks on Irvine's wife's social media post. The club's executive and supervisory boards deemed the comments inappropriate and referred the case to the honorary council for review.

The council ruled that Born's actions violated the club's bylaws and other binding regulations. Consequently, FC St. Pauli disciplined Born for his harmful conduct. The board member was fined, and the proceeds will be directed towards the club's youth divisions. Jackson Irvine, the target of the comments, found them deeply hurtful. Although the comments were deleted, the club considered them damaging to its reputation.

FC St. Pauli has addressed the inappropriate comments made by René Born, a supervisory board member. The honorary council's ruling and subsequent disciplinary action serve as a reminder of the club's commitment to maintaining a positive and respectful environment, both online and offline.
