Beşiktaş Secures Impressive Away Victory in UEFA Conference League Third Qualifying Round

In a thrilling match at Tallaght Stadium in Dublin, Beşiktaş clinched a 4-1 victory over St. Patrick's Athletic in the UEFA Conference League third qualifying round on August 8, 2025. The return leg is scheduled for August 14, 2025, at Beşiktaş's home stadium in Istanbul.

Tammy Abraham shone for Beşiktaş, scoring a first-half hat-trick. The English striker netted in the 14th, 23rd, and 43rd minutes, with each goal coming within 29 minutes. Abraham's hat-trick was a historic moment for Beşiktaş, as it marked the first time a player from the club had scored a hat-trick in European competition.

Joao Mario also contributed significantly to Beşiktaş's win, scoring a goal and providing an assist in the opening 30 minutes of the match. However, it was not all smooth sailing for Beşiktaş, as they have conceded in each of their last three European matches, totaling seven goals across those fixtures.

Meanwhile, Lausanne currently holds the upper hand in their tie against Astana, having won their first-leg match 3-1 at home. If Beşiktaş advances from this tie, they will face the winner of the Lausanne vs. Astana tie in the play-off round. The play-off round ties are scheduled for August 21 and August 28, with winners progressing to the group stage of the competition.

Unfortunately, Beşiktaş was without the services of Milot Rashica, who was absent due to illness. Mert Gunok made a crucial save shortly after St. Patrick's pulled one back in the 49th minute to preserve Beşiktaş's lead.

With this impressive win, Beşiktaş has now secured their first victory of the 2025-26 season in European competition. Abraham has also extended his tally to four goals in the season, a promising sign for the Turkish giants as they continue their European campaign.
