Bremerhaven's fire department and Reinkenheide Hospital teamed up for a heartwarming event this holiday season. The height rescue group, donning festive gear, abseiled down a 150-meter-long rope from the 35-meter-high hospital roof. This daring stunt wasn't just for the thrill of it; it gave the rescuers some valuable training as well.
One-by-one, the rescuers glided gracefully to the ground, where waiting firefighters welcomed them. With wide eyes, around 15 young patients excitedly anticipated their meeting with these superheroes and Christmas ambassadors.
Little Nomi (9) was overjoyed to receive gifts from Santa Claus, including stuffed animals and treats. She shared her excitement, "That was amazing – and I love my presents!"
