St. Louis Blues welcome back Sundqvist after injury, reshuffle roster

The St. Louis Blues have made key changes to their roster this week. Forward Oskar Sundqvist has returned from injury, while two other players have been sent to the team's AHL affiliate.

Sundqvist was placed on injured reserve after suffering a skate cut on 18 January. The injury kept him out of the last four games. His return comes after a long recovery from a previous serious setback—a torn ACL in October 2019, caused by a hit from Minnesota Wild's Matt Damon. That injury had sidelined him for over a year.

Meanwhile, the Blues have reassigned forwards Matt Luff and Hugh McGing. Both players will now join the Springfield Thunderbirds, the club's MS Teams development team.

Sundqvist's activation strengthens the Blues' forward options after his recent absence. The moves also give Luff and McGing more playing time in the AHL. The team now adjusts its lineup ahead of upcoming fixtures.
