SSS Launches Facial Authentication for OFWs in the Middle East

The Social Security System (SSS) has expanded digital services for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in the Middle East. Pensioners can now verify their status using facial authentication, while active members access benefits and loans online without disruption. As of December 2025, the SSS covers 1,476,645 OFWs, with 540,018 actively paying into the system. The Annual Confirmation of Pensioners (ACOP) now includes a Facial Authentication feature, allowing members to comply remotely. A built-in Liveness Check ensures secure identity verification, cutting fraud risks and removing the need for in-person visits.

The My.SSS Portal remains fully operational for benefit claims and loan applications. OFWs who lost jobs involuntarily can also apply for unemployment benefits if certified by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW). Despite regional conflicts, the SSS guarantees continued access to these services through digital platforms. The SSS's digital upgrades provide secure, convenient options for OFWs in the Middle East. Facial authentication and online portals reduce travel needs while maintaining service reliability. These measures support over a million workers, ensuring benefits remain accessible regardless of external challenges.
