In a thrilling turn of events in the Premier League transfer market, Arsenal has hijacked Tottenham's bid to sign Crystal Palace forward Eberechi Eze.

Tottenham, who had agreed terms with both Palace and Eze, found themselves in a surprising predicament when Crystal Palace delayed finalising the transfer to allow Eze to play in a Europa Conference League play-off match. This brief delay gave Arsenal a chance to step in, and they seized the opportunity.

Arsenal, eager to bolster their attacking options following a potential long-term injury to Kai Havertz, agreed a package worth around £60 million upfront plus £7.5 million in add-ons with Palace. They are now close to securing the deal, with sporting director Andrea Berta leading their pursuit. Eze, a boyhood Arsenal fan and former youth player at the club, is reportedly keen on the move[1][2][3][5].

With Arsenal's renewed interest, Tottenham, who believed Eze preferred their club, have moved on to other targets. The transfer looks set to swing in Arsenal's favour, although a final contract has yet to be signed[1][2][3][5].

Meanwhile, the future of Chelsea defender Marc Guehi is uncertain. Despite Chelsea considering re-signing Guehi, Crystal Palace's £40m valuation of the player has deterred them. Guehi, who is out of contract at the end of the season and can leave on a free, is attracting interest from clubs not just in England but overseas[4].

Elsewhere, Liverpool midfielder Wataru Endo has no plans to leave the club, despite interest from clubs in Germany. Endo came off the bench in the Community Shield final against Crystal Palace and played 19 minutes in the Reds' penalty shoot-out defeat at Wembley[6][7].
