Spurs coach Frank maintains a pragmatic outlook, emphasizing focus despite optimistic fan expectations following a favorable start.
Spurs Secure First Champions League Victory, Focus Shifts to Brighton Clash
Tottenham Hotspur have started their Champions League campaign on a high note, securing a 1-0 victory over Villarreal in their first game. The win has propelled Spurs to a promising position, currently tied on points with second-placed Arsenal in the table, after four games each.
With their sights set on the next challenge, manager Thomas Frank has emphasised the importance of staying focused on the present. Frank, who has been at the helm since June, has been maintaining a level-headed approach, jokingly suggesting that he needs to stay focused on the next training session and the game against Brighton & Hove Albion.
However, Spurs will be without striker Dominic Solanke, who is sidelined with an ankle injury and will not be available for the game against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday. Solanke, the club's second-highest scorer last season, has been slowly progressing from his injury and has recently returned to training.
Despite the injury setback, Frank remains optimistic about the team's performance. He stated that his focus remains on making the most of the good start to the season and doing everything to win the next game against Brighton & Hove Albion.
Meanwhile, defender Kota Takai, who has been out since July with a foot injury, is expected to return to training with the group by Monday. This development will undoubtedly boost the team's morale as they prepare for the upcoming game.
Frank has also been encouraging the fans to "dream and hope" after a bright start to Spurs' campaign, with three wins in four matches in both the Premier League and the Champions League. However, he reiterated that he does not want to focus on the league table this early in the season, preferring to keep his focus on Spurs' performances and what they can do.
As the game against Brighton & Hove Albion approaches, the manager remains steadfast in his approach. He stated that he does not want to look too far ahead or behind, implying a focus on the present. With the team off to a winning start, the next game against Brighton & Hove Albion promises to be an exciting encounter.
