Usain Bolt Wins Last Non-Championship Race in Monaco

Usain Bolt, the eight-time Olympic gold medallist and retired sprinting legend, claimed victory in his last race outside of major championships at the Diamond League meeting in Monaco. Bolt's winning time was an impressive 9.95 seconds.

Bolt's victory came after a slow start, but he managed to recover and secure the win, with Isiah Young of America finishing second, just three hundredths of a second behind. Chijindu Ujah of Great Britain finished fourth in the race.

Meanwhile, in the women's 800 metres race, Caster Semenya clinched the victory with a season's best and meeting record time of 1:55.27. Akani Simbine of South Africa placed third.

Isaac Makwala finished second in the men's 400 metres race with a personal best time of 43.84 seconds. Wayde van Niekerk took the top spot with a winning time of 43.73 seconds.

Bolt, in his post-race interview, expressed his satisfaction with his performance, stating, "It was good, I'm going into the right direction, still a lot of work to do."

Bolt's competitive career ended in 2017, and since then, there have been no reports of him returning to competition or racing outside major championships. New athletes have emerged as dominant forces in the sprinting world, with Noah Lyles capturing World Championship titles in 2023, including a triple gold performance reminiscent of Bolt's own dominance.

As Bolt prepares to defend his global sprint title at the World Championships in London next month, it is clear that his legacy lives on, inspiring a new generation of athletes to strive for greatness.

Despite his retirement from major championships, Usain Bolt's competitive spirit remained, evident in his win during the football match organized for the athletes attending the Diamond League meeting in Monaco. Contending against his fellow athletes, Bolt showcased his skills on the field, further solidifying his status as a multitalented sportsman.
