Springsteen's release 'Deliver Me From Nowhere' secures a spot in the New York Film Festival's Spotlight Gala

The 63rd New York Film Festival is set to feature an exciting lineup, with "Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere" taking the spotlight as the Spotlight Gala. This highly-anticipated film, directed by Scott Cooper, will open via Disney/20th Century Studios on October 24.

Scott Cooper, known for his work on films such as "Crazy Heart", "Out Of The Furnace", "Black Mass", and "Hostiles", is at the helm of this compelling drama. The cast includes Stephen Graham, Gaby Hoffmann, Paul Walter Hauser, David Krumholtz, Jeremy Allen White, and Jeremy Strong, with Odessa Young also making an appearance.

"Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere" recounts a challenging period in Bruce Springsteen's career when he recorded his famous 1982 album "Nebraska". This movie provides a unique insight into the life of one of the most iconic musicians of our time.

The world premiere of "Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere" is expected to take place at the Telluride Film Festival in Colorado at the end of the month. The New York Film Festival, which runs from September 26 to October 13, will also host the screening of this film, marking a significant event for both the festival and fans of Bruce Springsteen.

It is not yet clear if "Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere" will be the only Spotlight Gala for the festival, as there is no additional information provided about other films playing in this category. Another potential addition to the festival's lineup is "Anemone" by Ronan Day-Lewis, but its categorization remains unclear.

The screening of "Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere" is expected to be attended by Jeremy Allen White, Scott Cooper, Jeremy Strong, Odessa Young, and Bruce Springsteen himself.

In a notable connection, Cooper's 2009 directorial debut, "Crazy Heart", earned Jeff Bridges the Academy Award for best actor. This film, too, showcased Cooper's ability to create powerful, award-winning cinema.

Meanwhile, the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) will screen "Jaws" and "Sholay" in its Classics section, offering a nostalgic twist to this year's event.
