Springfield Armory's Model 2020 Rimfire Classic Rifle Evaluation

The Springfield Armory has introduced a new line of .22 Long Rifle-chambered rimfire rifles in 2023, and it's causing quite a stir in the shooting community. This line, comprising both Target and Classic variants, offers a delightful shooting and carrying experience, according to gun enthusiast Keefe.

The Springfield 2020 .22 rimfire is built in Turkey by Retay for Springfield Armory. The Target version of the Springfield line boasts an impressive feat—10-shot groups that come in underneath a half inch, a remarkable achievement.

The trigger design of the Springfield Model 2020 Rimfire Classic is based on the Remington Model 700, offering a single-stage trigger with a wide groove trigger blade. The trigger weight can also be adjusted to suit individual preferences.

The line's synthetic stock models, including the Target version, feature a medium-contour, almost bull barrel. On the other hand, the Classic variant comes in three different grades of walnut, with the AA grade featuring nice figure and traditional checkering. The Classic variant was produced by Springfield Armory in the United States.

For easier bolt lift and smoother operation, the Springfield line features an extra cocking cam inside the bolt. A two-position safety selector is located just to the right of the receiver tang, within easy reach of a shooter's thumb.

The Springfield line is versatile, with the Classic variant models featuring traditional styling and design elements, and the Target version boasting a synthetic stock and a reinforced synthetic stock for added durability.

In a playful yet confident statement, Keefe declared that 'no squirrel is safe this fall' when referring to the Springfield line.

An added bonus for the Springfield line is its compatibility with Ruger 10/22 rotary magazines. Springfield Armory guarantees three shots within a half inch at 50 yards for every gun in the line, making it one of the best bolt-action rimfire rifles available today.

The Springfield Model 2020 Rimfire Classic is undoubtedly a standout in this line, earning the title of one of the best bolt-action rimfire rifles available today. Adjustable length of pull on the Springfield line can be achieved with the addition of a spacer block, offering a personalized shooting experience.

In summary, the Springfield line offers a range of options for shooters, from the versatile Target version to the traditional Classic variant, all promising a delightful shooting and carrying experience. Whether you're a seasoned shooter or a beginner, the Springfield line has something for everyone.
