Spring 2018 Chamber Music Performance at UCLA Contempo Flux

On Saturday, June 9, from 4 PM to 5:30 PM, the UCLA Contempo Flux Spring 2018 Chamber Music Recital is set to enchant audiences at Schoenberg Hall. This free event promises an evening of captivating music, featuring a diverse array of compositions and talented performers.

The recital will open with Irwin Hui playing the flute for a performance that promises to set the tone for the evening. One of the highlights of the event will be Steven Stucky's "Sonate en form de preludes," performed by Layla Stefanacci (oboe), Maxwell Paulus (horn), and Gloria Cheng (harpsichord).

Gloria Cheng, the director of the event, has curated a program that showcases a variety of compositions. Caroline Shaw's "Entr'acte" will be performed by Xenia Deviatkina-Loh (violin), Viola You (violin), Lu Walstad (viola), and Jeffrey Ho (cello).

The recital will also feature György Ligeti's "Six Bagatelles," performed by an ensemble consisting of William Yeh (flute), Will Stevens (oboe), Nicole Galisatus (clarinet), Anjali Pillai (bassoon), and Maxwell Paulus (horn). Additionally, György Ligeti's "Trio for Violin, Horn, and Piano" will be performed by Xenia Deviatkina-Loh (violin), Maxwell Paulus (horn), and Nicholas Carlozzi (piano).

The event will conclude with Jean-Luc Darbelley's "Accents," performed by Jake Boring (alto saxophone) and Maxwell Paulus (horn). For those who enjoy a post-performance social gathering, a reception will follow the event, offering attendees the opportunity to mingle and discuss the evening's performances.
