Spouse confesses to manslaughter following fatal stabbing of wife while she was pushing a baby stroller.
In a chilling turn of events, Habibur Masum, 26, has admitted to manslaughter after stabbing his wife, Kulsuma Akter, 27, to death. The horrific incident unfolded in Bradford city center on 6th April last year. Masum was armed with a knife and pleaded guilty to the crime and possession of the weapon on Thursday. However, he refuses to accept the murder charge, which means he'll stand trial for the same on Monday at Bradford Crown Court.
In the days leading up to the tragedy, Masum was accused of a series of disturbing actions. He allegedly stalked Akter from November 2023 to April 2024, constantly tracking her movements, and even locating her at a safe house. He reportedly sent her menacing messages, threatening her life, and loitered near her temporary residence. These actions instilled fear and caused her significant distress.
Besides the manslaughter charge, Masum has also been charged with two counts of assault, one count of making threats to kill, and one charge of stalking. He denies these accusations.
As the trial approaches, it remains to be seen what other revelations will come to light. Stay tuned for updates on this heart-wrenching case.
