Spotlight shines on Finn in the latest Star Wars publication
Get ready, Star Wars fans! This October 21, join Finn and Jannah on a thrilling journey in the highly anticipated young adult novel, Star Wars: The Last Order. Written by Kwame Mbalia, author of the acclaimed book Tristan Strong Punches a Hole in the Sky, this book is a must-read for all Star Wars enthusiasts.
Set in the Sequel zone of the Star Wars universe, The Last Order continues threads left from Rise of Skywalker. Finn's backstory, unlike those of Rey and Poe, was not fully fleshed out in the sequel films, and this book promises to delve deeper into his past.
Our heroes, Finn and Jannah, team up to secure a mysterious artifact, leading them on a dangerous mission to deliver it to a buyer. Along the way, they pick up passengers on Mygeeto, including a very pregnant woman named Sohi and her masked companion, who turns out to be a clone named Ponder and the father of her baby.
The antagonist, ISB agent Crane, pursues them because of his obsession with Sohi, whom he once trained and calls his "daughter," and he also wants her baby, his "granddaughter." The group faces peril from Crane and a murderous buyer named Cellia Moten but manages to escape multiple threats and protect Sohi's newborn baby while fleeing to the planet Dallow.
The Last Order explores themes of loyalty, family, and survival in a complex galaxy. Finn and Jannah grapple with their own complicated pasts as soldiers of the oppressive regime, and the book could potentially provide insights into Finn's Force training.
