Groovin' to "Hot Together" Thanks to the "GTA 6" trailer on Spotify

Pointer Sisters' Hit Track Sparks a Surge on Spotify - Spotify to Host Pointer Sisters' Music Collection

Hello there! You might've heard The Pointer Sisters' classic tunes like "Jump (For My Love)" and "I'm So Excited." After the latest trailer drop for the hotly anticipated "Grand Theft Auto 6," another track from the soulful band, "Hot Together," is making a surprising comeback on Spotify.

First released in 1986, this almost-40-year-old tune is quickly becoming a gaming favorite, thanks to its prominent placement in the "GTA 6" trailer. In just a few hours, views for the song have increased by a whopping 182,000 percent. Yes, you read that right! (Not kidding, folks.)

So what's the deal? IGN chatted with a representative from the company, who said: "GTA cuts through pop culture like few other things. Music has been a staple for the series since the beginning, so it's awesome to see fans connecting with this classic banger in a whole new way."

Unfortunately, none of the original members can witness this comeback. June Pointer passed away in 2006, followed by her sisters Bonnie and Anita in 2020 and 2022. However, the group's oldest member, Ruth, has been performing with The Pointer Sisters since 1972 and continues to do so today, alongside her daughter Issa since 2002 and her great-niece Sadako Pointer Johnson since 2009.

The Internet Can't Get Enough of GTA 6 Trailers

The latest "GTA 6" trailer by developer Rockstar Games has been steamrollin' through the internet with over 85 million views on YouTube alone (as of May 8, 12:00 PM). The Hollywood Reporter estimates the total number of views across all platforms to be around 500 million.

The hype for this latest installment in the elaborate open-world game series is stronger than ever. Even with the recent news that the release of "GTA 6" has been pushed back to May 26, 2026, fans just can't seem to get enough. Originally, a release was planned for this year, but hey, good things come to those who wait, right?
